Ok, before we start hitting you with all of the fish from Christmas Eve, we figured we'd sneak this one in on you...

We've been regular customers of Brooklyn's Brick Oven Pizzeria in Edgewater, NJ for as long as we have known each other. Actually our second date was dinner at "Brooklyn's" and a movie ("Old School") at the National Amusements theater next door. Being the discerning pizza eaters we are, you'd have to think that Brooklyn's makes a good pie in order for us to keep coming back. They do. The best way to describe their pies would be to compare them to Grimaldi's of Brooklyn, and with good reason. The guys who own this place are related to the Grimaldi's clan. They also use a coal-fired oven, and their sauce has the same nice-balanced acidity and tang that makes it stand out. The funny thing is that there is a Grimaldi's in our hometown of Hoboken, (now unafilliated with the Brooklyn branch) and Brooklyn's Pizzeria in Edgewater is so much better than it that we opt to jump in the car and drive 20 minutes out of the way to go there.
NOTE: There are several other Brooklyn's Pizzeria's in NJ (Hackensack and Ridgewood) but we've never visited them so we can't vouch for the quality.

We typically order a large pie, half extra-sauce (Nikki), half black olives (Jonny). I've also played around with other toppings:
We usually start with an antipasto or tossed salad with marinated mushrooms, roasted peppers, olives and tomatoes. The antipasto is good, but avoid the mozzarella cheese which look like bricks and have about as much taste as cement.
